Motion alternative: why we are not one

Genyad is not a Motion alternative and a page pretending otherwise would waste your time. Motion reports on the ads you already ran, rolling spend, hook rate and hold rate up by concept instead of by ad ID. Genyad produces the ads. If you cannot tell which concept is carrying the account, buy Motion. If you know exactly what won and cannot produce the next ten variations, buy credits here. Most performance teams end up with both, because a Motion report is the best brief our generator can be given.

Start with the decision, not the feature list

Both tools will hand you a vertical video with a voiceover and captions. What separates them is the input they expect from you, because that decides how much work is left on your side of the screen.

Choose Genyad when

  • You have footage and the shortage is finished ads, not information about them
  • Your reporting already says which concept won and you cannot feed the next round fast enough
  • You need 8 to 20 live variations per campaign and one editor cannot keep up
  • You would rather pay per exported ad than per connected ad account

Choose Motion when

  • You cannot tell which of your live ads is carrying the account
  • You want spend, hook rate and hold rate rolled up by concept rather than by ad ID
  • The argument you are having is with a client or a finance team and needs a shared dashboard
  • You are deciding what to make next, which is a question no generator can answer for you

Scored against the publicly documented behaviour of Motion as of September 2026. Where we have said No about ourselves, we mean it: there are no avatars in Genyad and there is no product-URL importer.

What Motion is built to do

Motion sits on top of your ad accounts and reports on creative rather than on placements. It joins spend and performance back to the asset, tags concepts and hooks, and builds the creative view that Ads Manager will not build for you. It is a reporting product and a good one. It does not render video, and it never claimed to.

Its shape is post-launch creative analytics on your live ad account, and the entry price at September 2026 was from about $150/month for one or two ad accounts. Check their pricing page before quoting that to anyone, it moves.

Where Genyad has the stronger workflow

  • These are different jobs. Motion grades the ads you ran. Genyad makes the ads you have not run yet. Neither substitutes for the other, and any page ranking them against each other is selling you something.
  • Throughput. One credit per variation, generated from an indexed library, is what turns a finding into eight live ads inside a day.
  • The brief writes itself from their report. Take the three concepts with the most spend and the best hold rate, state each as one sentence, and generate against them.
  • No monthly floor. Credits do not expire, so a quiet month costs nothing, while an analytics seat bills whether or not you shipped.

What Motion does better

  • Creative analytics on your live account, which Genyad does not do at all and is not trying to
  • Concept and hook level tagging across thousands of ads, joined to actual spend
  • Reporting a client or a finance team will accept, with dashboards you can share
  • Telling you what to make next, which is the input to every good brief
  • Catching a winner going flat in week two, before the fatigue curve gets steep

Compare the cost model, not the sticker price

Motion listed from about $150/month for one or two ad accounts at September 2026, priced by ad account and seat and rising from there for agencies. Genyad is €29 for 15 credits or €99 for 65, with no subscription. Check both pricing pages before quoting either figure, because they move.

These are not competing line items. Motion's cost sits against reporting and scales with the number of accounts you manage. Genyad's sits against production and scales with the number of ads you ship. A team can outgrow one without touching the other.

The only genuine overlap is attention: both want an hour a week from a media buyer. If you can only spare one hour, spend it on whichever end of the loop is broken. A team with no reporting is guessing. A team with perfect reporting and no creative supply is stuck, which is the more common problem in 2026.

Moving from Motion without losing the useful work

  1. Do not migrate. This is the one comparison on this site where the honest answer is to keep the other tool.
  2. Open your creative report and write down the three concepts with the highest spend and the best hold rate.
  3. Turn each into a one sentence brief that states the argument rather than the edit.
  4. Generate five variations per brief from footage you already own, then publish them by hand.
  5. Read the next report and repeat. That loop needs both halves, and buying only one is why creative teams stall.

Frequently asked questions

Is Genyad a Motion alternative?

No. Motion reports on the creative running in your ad accounts and Genyad produces creative from your footage. They sit at opposite ends of the same loop, and most teams shipping weekly pay for both.

Does Genyad show creative analytics for my live ads?

No. There is no ad account connection, no spend data and no performance reporting inside Genyad. It exports files you upload yourself, and measurement stays wherever you already do it.

Which should I buy first if I can only buy one?

Whichever end of the loop is broken. If you cannot tell which ad is working, buy the reporting. If you know what won and cannot produce the next ten variations, buy the production.

What does Motion cost compared with Genyad?

Motion listed from about $150/month for one or two ad accounts in September 2026, priced per ad account. Genyad is free for 5 variations, then €29 for 15 credits or €99 for 65, with no subscription. Prices move, so check both.
